VU Library is right into this movement. The online services reflect that, and hopefully we will be able to optimise many web 2.0 technologies, so that services will be interactive.
EbscoHost 2.0 is a value added extra for our database users, but I have trouble with students and staff using these additional services, mainly because they do not want to create another login (not so seamless!)
Sometimes I wonder whether we think that the Y generation use these things because they are emerging technologies and gen Y are the now generation...I have found that many are not comfortable with technology.
Listened to Stephen Abram speak at Deakin on Friday- he is adept at putting Library 2.0 in its sociological setting. He does not just focus on the technical aspects of this change, but the necessity for it. Librarians are in a good place to assist others with the enormous growth of information--we all know this.
